Hi, I am Johann,

I started attending eco-centre Zejtun in 2011, as a memeber, and was later elected president of the group.

My position as president requires a lot of commitment. I must organise the group's meeting with the help of the vice president and lead the group in the right direction. If something is not going right, I am responsable of taking action to correct the flaw.

The reason why I joined the group was thanks to Fr. Eric Overend, who made me more aware of the environment and the problems which the environment is facing. He encouraged me to be the voice of our voiceless environment and so my love towards the environment flourished and I felt the urge to take action instead of stand hands across watching our Earth's well-being deteriorating.

I am mostly interested in Soccer, photography, video editing and listening to music...

Hi, I am Emma,

I started attending eco-centre Zejtun meetings at the beginning of 2013 as a memeber, and was later elected as vice president.

My main role within the group is to help the president with organising activities and meetings. I am also in charge of taking care of different relations which links us to other organisations, such as Eco-centre Qrendi, Nature trust Malta and many more.

My motivation to start attending the group lay mainly in my eagerness to promote green living and an eco-wise way of life. I try to promote our message through my interests which include photography, music, reading and writing.

Secretary

Hi, I am Rossella,

I started attending eco-centre Zejtun meetings in 2013 as a memeber, and was later elected as Secretary.

My duties within the group include the preparation and distribution of the Agenda and other materials. I keep notes of all meetings and I am also responsable for keeping records of activities executed by the group. I play a crucial role in keeping everyone updated on current events and issues.

I decided to join the Eco-Center because the environment is important to me. We need to raise awareness andleave a better environment for the future generations. My interests include crafts, cooking and staying in touch with nature.

Vice-Secretary

Hi, I am Cherise

I started attending Eco-centre Zejtun in 2013 as a memeber, and I am the youngest member of the group, and I was elected as vice-secretary early in 2014.

My hobby is drawing and it’s the main reason why I joined this group. The environment is close to my heart and seeing it deteriorate and fall apart is a very sad thought. Thus I want to help as best as I can by giving my best back to our environment.

Activity Co-ordinator

Hi, I am Francesco,

I started attending eco-centre Zejtun meetings at the beginning of 2013 as a memeber, and was later elected as activity co-ordinator.

I am responsable mainly for making sure that all items required are available for the event which is being organised. I am also responsable for keeping account of the group funds and how they are distributed for activities.

My motivation to start attending the group for various reasons. First of all i keep in mind how important this was for the group's founder, Fr.Eric, who continuously encouraged us to take part in this group. Furthermore, as a catholic, I believe that I have a duty in preserving the environment and God's creations. As a scientific student, I am also particularly interested in the environment.

In my free time, I practice sports, read and most of all, keep myself up to date with current issues and resolves, new discoveries, etc.

Hi, I am Jean-Claude

I was one of the founders of the group, Eco-centre Zejtun. At the beginning I had the crucial role of a president, but later resigned from my post. Now I play the role of a memeber.

I joined Eco-Center Zejtun Parish with the simple aim to give a hand to those who are trying to make a difference in the environment. I always remember the words of a teacher who used to teach me: "we messed up the environment and we have to do somethng to get it back".

Apart from caring for the environment, my main interests are drama and music. I enjoy a good book in the company of a cup of coffee.

Hi, I am Roderick

I was one of the founders of the group, Eco-centre Zejtun. At the beginning, I had an important position as P.R.O, but later I resigned from my post. Now I play the role of a member.

The ecocentre helps me to understand the relationship we, as humans, should have with the environment around us. The ecocentre also helps me to understand that every action even the smallest action possible, has a ripple-like effect on the environment.

If it is a positive action it will effect the environment positivley and if the action is negative, it will effect the environment negatively. This is why I decided upon becoming a part of the group and accepted the challenges we face.
